2013/2014

The project idea was to extend an existing mezzanine and to create a new reserve, a shop and new stairs.

The mezzanine has been expanded to enlarge existing offices. Thanks to this extension a second reserve can take place instead of the new cleared space.

The mezzanine railing is voluntary thick and standing at 1.20m from the ground. Overhanging the exposition volume, it offers a privileged connection between offices and gallery.

This project creates a contrast between an industrial style (it was a customs building) and new refined style.

A concrete column was laid bare, that which exhibits so the original structure.

Otherwise, new steel stairs (lacquered in white) replace the old spiral stairs.

A huge bookcase occupies one of new walls. It allows exposing books, items, and small artworks.

A large horizontal opening in this bookcase creates such a showcase for the entrance hall.
